Testimonials

Maureen is dynamic, passionate, engaging and vivacious. Her broad spectrum of special events, tours, lectures and workshops held throughout the year for individuals, families and small groups are highly prized by outdoor enthusiasts. Whether it is taking a walk on an interpretive nature trail, learning about wildlife through live exhibits, or attending workshops on a multitude of topics, Maureen’s passion for conservation and stewardship is magnetizing. In 2007, Maureen spearheaded a Friends Group organized to support the Michigan Fisheries Visitor Center. She led a group of volunteers to maintain the center's gift shop, and the Friends Group sponsors various interpretive and volunteer activities. Maureen’s leadership and tenacity play a key role in the knowledge necessary to education, engage and mobilize diverse constituencies to conserving and sustaining our natural world.

I have yet to meet any other individual in my life with the drive and passion for teaching in and about the outdoors that Maureen Stine possesses. Her stewardship and love of nature is apparent from the moment you meet her. Anyone looking for a professional to interpret or teach about our natural world…look no further.

Maureen taps into the spirit of each child. She stresses safety, love and respect for others, and a heightened awareness of nature's beauty. I think Maureen's programs and leadership have a lasting effect of not only the children but the adult chaperons as well. Maureen uses her vast knowledge of nature, science and issues and delivers her programs with passion, humor and just down right "kick-in-the pants" fun for all ages.

Having known Maureen as a fellow State Park Interpreter over many years, I have gained many usable resources from her. Her workshops have given me the confidence to present some program topics that I never felt comfortable presenting. In turn she is open to learn from others and trying their ideas. All the while having FUN! I know that other fellow interpreters have enjoyed listening, learning, and sharing with Maureen over the many years she was a Michigan State Park Interpreter. Maureen's dedication to the educational interpretive profession has never been more obvious than if you watch her communicate with young and old alike. Her enthusiasm generates and drives her subject matter to a point where you will not want to miss it, let alone never forget it. Maureen falls into a unique category of being exceptional talented in creating and developing ideas that exceeds her participants expectations. She combines this talent with being very open and personable to her audience.

My students and I had a great time and the entire visit went along with the Michigan GLCE's. I could not wait to bring my children to another program to fulfill the Earth Day and life cycle of fish. Thank you, to Maureen Stine because she was a great guidance teacher for my children.

Students in my Great Lakes Studies class enjoy Maureen’s classroom visits. Each presentation provides a wonderful support to this course of study of aquatic nuisance species. She greatly helped reinforce the lessons at hand on issues facing our Great Lakes.
